Barkerville Chinooks

Barkerville Chinooks announced the arrival of six Chinook puppies in New Hampshire. Puppies were born on May 4 and 5, 2025.
The dam is Barkerville Harriet Blue, one of Brother's offspring. The sire is Ferncroft Tormund Evan. There's quite a story about their arrival. The 1st and last pups were born in the back seat of a pick-up truck, with the rest were born at home.

Tormund is a most friendly dog. He wants to check everyone out and meet everybody. He's never met a person or dog he didn't like. He's curious and mild mannered. He loves hiking and leading on the trail. But if his people stop walking, he comes back quickly to see why. He enjoys meeting people and other dogs on the trail, but continues on with his people if the others are not hiking along with them.

Tormund has big paws, heavy bone, and a solid body. He has a smooth gait.

Blue is a very friendly Chinook and happily greets most visitors when they walk in the door with lots of tail wags, grins, and licks. Often, she will greet with a toy or three in her mouth, tail wagging furiously. She is naturally curious about people and places. If she is stand offish, it is around people who approach with fast and overly enthusiastic friendliness. She prefers cheek rubs and butt scratches to ear scratches. She loves to cuddle up and nap with you on the sofa, but also likes her own time.

She loves hiking and will happily spend the day on the trail, unafraid of wild game - bears included.

Meet Blue x Tormund puppies

Blue and Tormund's puppies are 2 weeks old. Part of us says, "already?" And the other part says, "only 2 weeks old??"

The fun is just beginning. Their eyes are open, they are discovering play with each other and their momma. They are turning from potatoes that eat, sleep, pee, and poop into lovely little beings who are dazzled with the unfolding of their lives.
