Maple is 2nd generation in the COA’s Chinook Breed Conservation Program and brings genetic diversity to the table. When bred with a purebred Chinook Maple’s puppies will be eligible to be registered as UKC purebreds. Maple had her first litter of puppies in December 2024. Maple is a sweet girl with beautiful conformation and movement. She loves living with her papa, Brud. She's not shy, but she needs a moment when meeting new people. She is a friend after that. ​

Meet Maple's puppies from her 1st litter!
Maple had 6 puppies on December 9 and 10, 2024. Desert Sol Arlo Baci is the sire of these pups, which the 3rd generation of a Chinook crossbreeding with a Tamaskan Dog. They have since been registered as UKC purebreds, meeting the requirements of the COA Chinook Breed Conservation Program. During an early winter storm in Maine, we gathered in our own little world oblivious of the outside conditions. All of our attention was focused on Maple and the pending arrival of her puppies. The first puppy arrived shortly after 7 pm on 12/9/24. Maple whelped with relative ease and tended to her pups with focused care.

Name That Tune Litter
​Have you ever been singing along with a song and someone dear comes to your mind? This litter's theme is Name That Tune. Puppy names come from song titles (some favorite oldies). I am imagining people serenading their Chinook with sweet lyrics from each of these songs - serenading them across their lifetime. ​Let me introduce you to the Name That Tune puppies!

Sylvie is a tawny pup with a nice front, strong rear, and solid body. She has a nice head with a short and deep muzzle with a deep back skull which makes for a really nice wedge-shaped head. Sylvie is sweet and wants to say hello to every person she meets. Sylvie loves going to the dog park to play with her dog friends, chasing and being chased, and a bit of wrestling. Sylvie snuggles with each of the household members for a spell each night. Her family is crazy for her.​​​

Able has a nice front, straight legs, a broad chest, and heavy bone. He has a strong rear with straight legs that are well muscled. He has a nicely balanced body with a level topline. He has proper rear and front angulation. He is well muscled with strong substance. ​​Able is smart, sweet, and agile. He likes to play fetch, tug of war and keep away. He loves everyone he meets, most of all his people. We’re so lucky that Able and Juniper visit every couple of months.​

Bridge has a nice front with straight legs. He has a nice rear with straight legs that a moderately spaced. Quimbo has a nice head with a strong underjaw. He has a proper stop and a nice wedge-shape. ​​Quimbo lives with longtime Chinook owners and breeders in NH. He has a sweet personality. In a dogsledding presentation at an elementary school, he impressed everyone with his sweetness. No visit with the family granddaughters is complete without Quimbo. His mischievous side includes hiding clothes and slippers in his kennel. Quimbo has nice movement and balance.​​

Bowie has nice substance with a rear with straight legs that are moderately spaced. He has a nice head with a short muzzle, a proper stop, and an aquiline nose. ​Bowie lives in midcoast Maine with his beloved family of 4 humans and a big brother Chinook, Blue. He is fast and agile, so the girls set up agility courses for him inside and out. He loves this! He also loves cuddling, playing keep away, snacking on bully sticks and carrots, and playing with his cow toy! He walks politely on leash and loves to swim.

Juniper loves living with her momma Maple, grandpa Brud, Auntie Moon, and great Auntie Dirigo. Like siblings, she is sweet and mischievous. She has a lot of energy and LOVES to play and run. She is smart and learns fast - when she wants to. ​​
